What we’re looking for

We are in search of a rockstar, front-end engineer with specialized skills in 3D rendering to lead development of our initial product. This role is crucial in developing high-quality interfaces for our cutting-edge simulation and modeling tools. The ideal candidate is mission aligned and excited by the blank-canvas opportunity to architect, implement, and deploy high-quality, scalable code in a fast-paced, iterative environment. As a member of our founding engineering team, they will have outsized influence on the company and technical ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize frontend code to create a responsive, highly interactive & consumer-grade UX
• Develop UI components and features using frameworks like Three.js to render 3D models in our cloud-based web application
• Work with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs and WebSockets for real-time data manipulation and display
• Conduct performance tests and make necessary adjustments to optimize speed and UX
• Own the technology and the set technical tone for the company: define, develop, and deploy
• Work hand-in-hand with founders to define the product and translate user needs into technical specs, with an eye for user pain, simplicity, and scalability

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years software engineering experience — startup experience is a big plus
• Expertise in 3D rendering libraries like Three.js, WebGL, or similar
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with frontend frameworks like React, Angular or Vue.js
• Proven track record of developing and deploying high-quality, scalable code and familiarity with version control tools like Git
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively articulate technical concepts, trade-offs and decisions
